About Anne

I was just shy of 2 years old when he came into my home. He had a job to do, a job that must have been hard. The court had ordered that my sister and I be taken into custody.

So the officer took us out of the house we lived in and to the Department of Social Services. He was my first experience with a hero. He helped me during a traumatic experience that I wouldn’t even begin to understand until many years later.

My sister and I were placed into a loving foster home where we would live for a few months. Our foster parents were my second experience with heroes. Their home was the only true home I knew as a child.

Home has significant meaning for me, as I have discovered as an adult what a home really is. It’s not as simple as the structure we live in. It’s much more than that. Anyone can live in a structure and not really have a home.

Some people have a true home but do not get to enjoy it very often due to the demands of their work. Some of these are heroes among us who serve our country, deployed to another country for extended periods of time.

While in high school considering my potential career path, I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. This led me to the beautiful mountains of Boone, North Carolina, a place that was home for me for seven short years. I studied and earned my degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. I met my husband there and we married after I graduated.

With the goal of starting a family in the near future in sight, I knew my children would need to be my primary focus for a season. Once they were both in school, I remembered having loved helping Brides through some of their wedding planning. Realizing that buying a home, like planning a wedding, is one of life’s biggest events, I decided to enter the world of real estate.

I have worked with the South Carolina Local Heroes program to help several heroes buy a home and am the top preferred Realtor with the program. Helping heroes has given me so much joy in being able to give back in a small way to those who give every day in service to our community - just like those heroes who have given tremendously to me. I’ve always enjoyed giving … and now I get to do it through my work, in providing what I hope is an extraordinary experience for my clients.

Coach Jimmy Johnson said, “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.” I try to find ways to do that little extra whenever I can.

A few of my other favorite things include spending time with family and friends, trying a new restaurant or recipe, coffee, snuggling up in front of the fireplace on a cold winter day and watching a great movie, the Christmas season (it IS the most wonderful time of the year!), worshiping my Savior at church and anything purple. I’m pretty simple and need time for myself as an introvert, yet, a social introvert as an ISFJ.

The journey of buying or selling a home can be a stressful one, like an emotional roller coaster. I always approach it with professionalism, but also in a spirit of fun. I celebrate little victories with my clients along the way and keep an eye out for moments to enjoy the journey.

If you’re in the market to buy or sell a home, let’s start that journey together today. Call or text me @ 803.493.1853. *{You can read more client testimonials on my Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/AnneNewsomeRealtor}
